Education Studies versus Licensure: Honest Boundaries for a Minnesota Digital Education Faculty

Abstract

Teachers search for degrees and accidentally enrol in programmes that cannot license them. This Frontier paper states the boundary: education studies and leadership degrees that do not replace Minnesota licensure processes, with a referral path for those who need a licensure programme. Honesty reduced complaints. Students used Frontier for assessed leadership study while remaining in their districts. Frontier Innovation University should keep this boundary in research and in the catalogue. An American university that blurs licensure for enrolment is not serving Austin teachers.
