Frontier Innovation University Sets Out Exactly What Its Low Online Fees Cover

Frontier Innovation University does not run a free online degree, and it does not run an expensive one. Every online program is priced in a low published band: tuition-free online for the whole award, paid a semester at a time at $200 to $400 per semester. The Bursary has published a precise account of what that buys.

The semester fee covers teaching, supervision, marking, access to the learning platform and library, and the award itself. There is no separate per-module charge, no annual tuition on top, and no compulsory extra that functions as tuition under another name. The published band is the price.

Applying online is free. There is a $20 fee only for the on-campus pathway. After an applicant receives and accepts an offer, the first semester fee is what confirms the place. Remaining semesters are billed at the same published rate for that program.

Fee assistance exists for students for whom even these amounts are a barrier. Applications are assessed on need, and eligible students receive a reduction or a staged plan. Fee assistance does not delay admission and can be applied for in parallel with starting study.

Optional on-campus study in Denver is a separate product with its own published tuition. Choosing it is never required and never implied by an online offer.

"If anyone quotes you a five-figure tuition for a Frontier online degree, they are not us," the Bursary note says. "The fees page is the single source of truth. It is short. Read it, then apply."

Emily Carter, a civil servant in Denver, put it plainly: "I budgeted for one modest payment a semester. That is exactly what it was."

Staff across admissions, registry, teaching and student services are told to design every process as if the default student is studying after a full day's work: recorded sessions, published rubrics, named advisers, and a library desk that does not close at the end of one country's office hours. Frontier will not pretend a program is light. Applicants should plan their weekly hours before accepting an offer and ask direct questions at the open webinars if a page reads as vague.
